China launches $70 billion stimulus package

China has announced the introduction of 500 billion yuan (about $70.25 billion) in financial instruments to boost investment and support the slowing economy. These funds will be directed to specific investment projects aimed at improving financial services and efficient use of capital. The initiative aims to stabilise economic growth in the face of weak economic performance from August, including a decline in industrial production and retail sales.
