The U.S. with a $26.14 trillion foreign investment deficit

According to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, domestic foreign assets are $39.56 trillion, while foreign liabilities are worth $65.71 trillion, resulting in a net deficit of $26.14 trillion at the end of the second quarter of 2025. This change is mainly due to financial transactions and changes in exchange rates. In addition, the increase in the value of foreign assets in US dollars increased the value of liabilities in dollar terms.
